50s' Night

Note from the Treasurer of Liaisons.

Club Members enjoyed a fantastic evening with our regular D.J. 'treating us' to the music of the 50s.  We had nearly every tune from this period and we danced and danced and danced.  The evening was superbly organised and the organiser had arranged the B.B.Q. prizes and decorations.

60s Night

Once again we enjoyed a great evening. This time we strutted away to 60s' music, with Ray as DJ. The food was excellent. This is a brilliant way to spend the evening.

Bletchley Park

Several of us visited Bletchley Park to see the Enigma machine. This was a really interesting, informative and enjoyable visit. Tea, coffee & biscuits when we arrived. Tour round Bletchley Park with our own Guide, who was excellent, with his own personal sense of humour. One of the machines that they used you needed to be 5' 6" tall to operate it. The Guide informed us that one lady had only been 5' 2". She was asked how she had got away with it. Her reply was she used 'A milk crate'. This would have been an ideal job for the Web Author, except I am also vertically challenged, and would have needed 'a couple of milk crates', as I am only 5' 0"..A break for lunch and then we continued with the tour. A visit to a collection, which was a personal collection, of Winston Churchill was interesting. After a stop, of course, in the shop we all made our way home and remarked on how good a day it had been.
