Sunday 1st April

Walk from Hazlemere Cross Roads, near High Wycombe.

This will be a walk with some hilly parts taking in Widmer End, Kingshill and views of Hughenden Valley.

We meet at the free car park at the rear of the shops at the crossroads off the Holmer Green road, behind the new retirement flats.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11am start.

Saturday 7th April

Highclere Castle Visit

I am organising a group visit to the renowned Highclere Castle, of Downton Abbey fame, near Newbury.

The £21 ticket for over 60s includes the garden, castle and Tutankhamen exhibition.

The plan will be to car share there and maybe stop for late brunch/lunch on route.

There is a restaurant on site so if you wanted lunch or a cream tea at £30 a head you need to book ahead.

The afternoon ticket allows early access to the gardens but not to the castle or exhibition until after 1pm.

This is proving to be a very popular event so please contact me asap.

Sunday 8th April

Walk from Hambleden

A hilly walk of approx 4 miles around the beautiful Hambleden valley.

To reach Hambleden turn right off the A4155 Marlow to Henley road, after approx 1 mile turn into the village when you see the church. Meet in the public car park behind The Stag & Huntsman pub which can be found up the first right turn.

Meet at 10:45 for a prompt 11am start.

Amblers Short Flat Walk from Maidenhead Bridge at 11:30am


A riverside stroll from Maidenhead Bridge towards the Lock, passing beneath Brunel's famous sounding arch bridge.

Park in Thames Riviera car park.

Car share where possible.

Setting off from the bridge at 11:30 returning about 12:30....ideal for those who have booked on with Val onto her carvery lunch at the Thames Riviera Hotel.

Lunch at The Thames Riviera Hotel & Blue River Café, Maidenhead

Come and join Val and your friends for a leisurely lunch by the river.

A table for 6 has been booked at 13.00; the numbers can be increased if necessary; the food and prices are very good, carvery £9 95 for two courses.

Friday 13th April TGIF at The General Havelock, Wycombe Marsh

Chill-out with Trev. Whittaker for a drink after a hard week at work or not as the case may be.

Saturday 14th April 'Cliff' and the Bourne Again Shadows at Kenton Theatre

Another chance to see this fabulous act performing all your favourite Cliff and Shadows hits in one nostalgic evening.

They don't look like Cliff and the Shads but they certainly sound like them as you will know if you have seen them before.

We have 7 tickets at £18 each they are front row balcony which is a great view at this lovely old theatre.

Free parking is in the Waitrose Car Park about 5 mins walk.

Walk from Holmer Green

A 5 mile undulating walk taking in the beautiful village of Little Missenden and surrounding woodland.

From High Wycombe, take the A404 to Amersham, straight over Hazelmere cross roads, down the hill and up the other side through the S bend onto straight road. Within ½ mile, take left hand turn into Earl Howe Road to Holmer Green. Turn right at the cross roads by pond then second left for parking by the common.

Meet 10:45am for prompt 11am start.

Hog Wild are a rock group playing a mix of 50s rock, classic country and rhythm and blues. 8pm onwards at The Royal British Legion, 48 Beech Tree Road, Holmer Green.

Walk from Forty Green

A hilly 5 mile walk taking in the outskirts of Penn, Holtspur and Wooburn Moor.

We meet at the Royal Standard of England pub car park.

From Beaconsfield take the B474 to Knotty Green and turn left into Forty Green Road.

The pub is located on the right hand side after Brindles Lane has a large car park.

Meet at 10:45am for a prompt 11am start.

Monday 23rd April

Celebrate St. George's Day at Mike B's in Marlow

There is little in the way of celebrating St. George's Day- unlike the Welsh, Scottish and the Irish who celebrate their heritage with gusto so I suggest that we at Liaisons should do, please come over at 3pm and help me celebrate by wading your way through scones & cream with strawberry jam of course, plus perhaps jelly?

There will be a choice of tea & coffee.

Abba Tribute with Meal at Thames Riviera Hotel

Three course meal with music and maybe dancing to Abba hits.

Friday 27th April

Charity Rock & Roll Night at Amersham Rock Club

A fun night at the Polish Club in aid of local charities.

There will be a live band Gidea Park with star names of the 60's plus a raffle.

A block of ten tickets have been purchased, and table for Liaisons will be reserved; price of ticket is £16, please book with Sylvia and/or Chris and pay at desk or send a cheque.

Sunday 29th April

Walk from Chalfont St Giles

This a walk of approximately 5 miles including one hill.

To get there from junction 2 of the M40, take the A355 towards Beaconsfield, then at the first roundabout take the second exit (A40) and follow the signs to Gerrards Cross, after about one mile turn left (signposted Jordans), and follow the signs to Chalfont St Giles.

Alternatively the village is off the main A413 Amersham to Denham road.

Meet in the public car park opposite the village pond and next to the Co-op store at 10:45 for a 11am start.

Weekend Away at Norton Grange, Isle of Wight

16 Single Chalets have been booked for a three night break at the above Warners Resort.

Entertainment includes top tribute to the Temptations from the Temps Experience.

Cost is £150 per person with a non refundable deposit of £50 required at time of booking to secure your place (balance of £100 is required now).

An extra cost of £30 is required nearer the time for the trip on the car ferry.

Play-As You Like It at Great Kingshill

Fourways Theatre Company presents for Wycombe Arts Festival"As You Like It" by William Shakespeare.

This is an open-air production in the beautiful grounds of Pipers Corner School, Great Kingshill, High Wycombe with covered raked audience seating provided.

Ticket prices £12 concessions ONLY from Mike Gardner NOT through the club.

Meet at 7pm for 7:30 start.

Come earlier from 6pm if you wish to picnic in the grounds.

Barn Dance at Sands

Another fun dance and a lot of laughs at Sands Village Hall, organised by Daphne from 8:00 till 11:15 pm tickets from Daphne are £8.

Bring a plate of food to share and your own drinks.

To get there from Junction 4 of the M40 (Handy Cross) take A4010 signposted Aylesbury (and Adams Park signs) at the mini roundabout at bottom of hill, turn left into Lane End Road, the hall is100 yards along on right hand side, car parking is at rear of hall.

No boots please.

Saturday 9th June

Bus Trip to Brighton

A big red bus has been booked for our trip to Brighton, with our usual on board entertainment.

Bus will leave at 9:30am sharp so arrive before 9:15am, we will have a refreshment stop around half way, free time to eat, drink sunbathe, shop or just relax. and could arrive in Brighton at approx 1pm. all aboard at 5pm for return trip.

Cost will be £20, so please pay at the desk or send cheque to address on page1. We will probably be leaving from Flackwell, as on previous years, Keith will confirm before the event.

I have 3 tickets to see Sarah Mulligan at the Swan Theatre at 8pm. Tickets £32.
